Silver Palace Plans Combat Fixes and More Detective Gameplay

Better camera tracking, clearer combat feedback and more detective work are on the way. Players can also apply to help test future content.

Silver Palace is working on camera tracking, combat feedback and city exploration following its Dichotomy beta. The August 22 Feedback and Optimization update covers everything from keeping fast enemies in view to adding more detective interactions around Silvernia. It is an encouraging set of priorities for a game with this much going on.

The improvements are part of the team’s development plans. There is also an ongoing Private Investigator recruitment program for players who want to help test future content and give feedback.

Keeping the fight in view

Camera behavior and target lock-on are getting attention during encounters with groups, flying enemies and fast-moving opponents. The team is also polishing attack animations, visual effects, sound and enemy reactions to make combat feel more satisfying.

Those changes could make a real difference. Losing sight of an enemy just as an attack arrives is frustrating, especially when a fight asks you to react quickly. A camera that follows the action well gives the player room to enjoy the movement and timing.

The same goes for the impact of a hit. A convincing sound effect and an enemy visibly reacting can make a heavy attack feel great. Silver Palace has some striking character designs, and it would be exciting to feel that much personality in the way their attacks land.

Combat information is another focus. Support buffs and the effects of Reactors and Catalysts could be difficult to spot in the beta. Interface and tutorial changes are intended to make those systems easier to understand.

That is useful work for anyone interested in trying different characters. Seeing when a teammate’s ability helps you makes it easier to appreciate what they bring to a fight. It also makes experimenting more enjoyable when the game gives you a clear response to the choices you make.

Giving the detective more to investigate

A Dialogue History feature is planned, along with improvements to stealth and assassination sequences. The developers also want to use detective tools such as the Revealer Light more often and expand on branching Curious Deductions quests.

This is the part we’re especially interested in. A detective game has a great excuse to reward curiosity: remembering an odd detail, revisiting a conversation or following a lead somewhere unexpected. Having a dialogue log nearby would be welcome when a case starts connecting people and events you encountered earlier.

Branching cases sound particularly promising. Reaching an ending and wondering how another decision might have changed it can make an investigation worth discussing afterward. Good mysteries give players theories to trade, and that is an appealing prospect for Silver Palace’s community.

The city’s improvement list includes more accessible interiors, stronger NPC behavior, additional interactions, better map guidance and smoother riding and flying with the Silverium Pegasus. Performance and device compatibility are also being worked on.

Silvernia’s streets already make a strong visual impression. More places to enter and people to interact with could make exploring them much more rewarding. We’d love to find a memorable little encounter on the way to a case, especially when it gives a neighborhood some character of its own.

Building on the Dichotomy beta

The July 23 Dichotomy beta introduced the male protagonist and featured 15 playable characters, including eight additions for that test. Its revised combat involved dodging, parrying, Stamina management and a Stun mechanic, with combat assistance available as well.

That gives the upcoming improvements a substantial foundation. The movement and combat systems already have plenty of ideas to work with; making them feel comfortable together is an important next step. The mix of lively battles and slower investigations could be especially enjoyable when moving between the two feels natural.

Want to help test future content?

Silver Palace opened its Private Investigator project on October 9. Recruitment is ongoing, and players aged 18 or over can apply through the official recruitment survey. The team selects participants for each confidential test from that applicant pool.

The sessions are small, have no in-game purchases and wipe account data afterward. Participants sign a non-disclosure agreement and cannot share screenshots, recordings or details from the test. Submitting the survey gives you a chance to receive an invitation.

The Chinese official account calls the project 秘密调查员 and describes its purpose as testing content still in development. That makes it a useful opportunity for players who enjoy getting involved early and giving detailed feedback. If helping shape Silvernia sounds appealing, the survey is open.
